Terms and Conditions
Deposits & Booking:
A non-refundable deposit (as specified in your project proposal) is required to secure your project in my production schedule. This fee is applied toward the total project cost. No work will commence until the payment is received.
Payment Terms:
The remaining balance is due in full upon completion of the Step Three review. Final "clean" files, high-resolution exports, and completed manuscripts will be released once payment is confirmed.
Ownership, Copyright, and Portfolio:
Ownership: Upon final payment, you retain full ownership and copyright of the edited work.
Portfolio: I love celebrating my clients! I reserve the right to display the project title and imagery (like book covers or logos) in my portfolio and social media.
NDA: If you require a Non-Disclosure Agreement, please let me know before we start; a signed NDA will supersede my portfolio rights.
Project Dormancy and Cancellations:
Cancellation
If a project is canceled by the client after work has commenced, the deposit remains non-refundable to cover my consultation and setup time. Turnaround times are based on the Client providing all necessary files and feedback by the agreed-upon dates. Delays in Client delivery may result in a shifted completion date.
Inactivity/ Project Dormancy
Life happens, and that’s okay! However, if a project is delayed by the Client for more than 30 days without communication for any reason (e.g., failure to provide feedback or files), the project will be considered "inactive." Turnaround times are based on the Client providing all necessary files and feedback by the agreed-upon dates. Delays in Client delivery may result in a shifted completion date.
To restart an inactive project, a rescheduling fee may apply, and the project will be subject to my current availability. Turnaround times are based on the Client providing all necessary files and feedback by the agreed-upon dates. Delays in Client delivery may result in a shifted completion date.
Design Assets and Licensing:
I utilize Canva Pro assets and licensed elements. While these are covered under my subscription, you, the Client, are responsible for ensuring that you comply with Canva’s licensing terms for commercial use (e.g., printing more than 250,000 copies). The designer, I, will disclose if any third-party stock imagery requires an extended license beyond the standard Canva Pro terms.
Revisions:
Design and Editing services DEPEND ON THE PACKAGE. Please refer to your specific service package for more details on the scope of the revision process.
Originality and AI
You warrant that the work you submitted is your original work and does not infringe on anyone else’s copyright. As your editor/designer, I am not responsible for verifying the originality of the manuscript or identifying AI- generated content.
The “Fine Print” (Liability and Legal)
Final Review
While I strive for perfection, the final responsibility of accuracy, legality, and fact-checking lies with you, the Client.
Liability
My total liability is limited to the amount paid for the services rendered. I cannot be held liable for indirect or consequential damages.
Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the state of Tennessee. If any of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in full effect.
