My husband is the VP of Unreleased Manuscripts.
He ALWAYS reads the first version of EVERY book. Even if he doesn’t want to, he’ll direct me down the right path. I couldn’t write without him.
My oldest is the Director of Snack Logistics.
He makes sure when I am hyperfocused on work that I am eating SOMETHING! It also gives him a chance to eat something he wants, haha! ;).
My youngest is the Coordinator of Creative Chaos.
He ALWAYS has something that will, 100% of the time, distract me…Sometimes the distraction is JUST what I needed to walk away from the writing to come back with an amazing revision!
My doggo is the Senior of Nap Security.
Her official duties are being a cutie patootie and keeping the calming work vibes (mostly, anyway).

D. L. Winchester
is a rural and western horror author who lives in the foothills of Southern Appalachia. That’s not all he does, though. He used to be a mortician, and he is currently the President and Associate Editor of Undertaker Books, an independent horror publisher. He recently put together the All Hallows Book Fair at Jefferson City Public Library on October 3, 2026, with a few authors you may already know. If you’re a fan of horror, I can personally attest that he’s an excellent author, and you should purchase some of his books!
